DAY 1

10 Teams, each with 9 players, rocked up at Stab City for the 2nd Annual PPP Team Invitational Poker Championship. I met FezioJnr in the morn and we headed up in his batmobile, and as we arrived met with Matt, Tomf, FirePhil and Static.

As we chilled out awaiting the rest of the Motley Crew, APAT weekend was discussed (d'oh) and we were soon down to business. We also find that Drago had put £5 bounties on our heads, bar me whom he placed a special £10 bounty on.

We all donned our Poker.co.uk patches with pride too.

My starting table was interesting to say the least. With Stu P from Meetup and PPPs Cooper both to my right i was quite happy with my table draw as the action players were safely to my right!
My table was so nitty it was untrue with myself and the above mentioned being the only players playin a hand i realised i had to get my chips there, as noone else was playing pots.

In the first level i seemed to be up against AA more times than i care to imagine but i chipped up nicely to 12k calling a river bluff of Stus with 97 on a A667K board when the FD missed.

Then it went wrong.........

At 50/100 Stu raises his button (my bb) again, and i look down at 68hh and i decided to apply some pressure and 3bet him to 975. Excepting to TID there he then 4bets me to 2100 leaving roughly 5k behind.....hmmmm....now i expect his range to be pretty wide here, especially as he has the button AND its against me, now i dont expect him to have a huge hand here, as im pretty sure he will smooth the button and let me hang myself, and i cant really call as there are not many flops i want to see with 8 high, especially if he has a mid pair or high cards. I decide he has enough back to fold most of his range here, and the 5bet looks strong so i jam and he insta calls AKo.......WOWZER......he can never put me on AQ, AJ etc here so was suprised he was willing to get it in prob thinking he is flippin.

Flop comes Qh 3h 4s - good flop - now favourtie!
Turn comes 7c - holy moly more outs than ever!
River 2c.....PAH

So down to 2k i manage to treble up next hand with 66 v AT v AJ, and am soon back to 8k........

i then raise with 55 and Stu 3 bets me again, so i call and see a Ts 5s 2h flop (BINGO!) and i decide to donk into him hoping to get it all in, which we do.......he flips TT, and i flip over my 65dd...huh...FUCK misread my hand (not that it matters as 65 is in better shape lol, but a brutal way to go) and Stu gets my £10 bounty!

On the rail i find JJJ has bust already, flush under flush, as well as Tomf and we are lookin pretty worse for wears early on.

As the day goes on FirePhil busts vs guy from BBP when he loses 2 flip[s back to back and Cayton shortly after with AQ v A2hh of Stacticman leaving our favourite Northern Lady 1 chipped. Cirtus is the last to bust in the day, after being carddead all day (that cardroom seems to do that to him)

The days play ends with Fezio, Matt and Dice in, but we need to run well for a chance.

I decide to play the evening game to no avail, T8ss v Q6ss on 9s7s2s flop leaves me with 2bbs, which i manage to run back up to 8k (im good at that!) only to get it in with table maniac with 55 v 99 on QQ4 flop (again almost tooo similar!)

Cayton FTs that game, whilst Matt tries to get us barred from Casino at 3am chanting "PITTSSSBBUURRGGHHHHH SSSTTTEEELLLEEEERRRRSSSS" at the top of his voice!

DAY 2

So 29 remain, with 18 getting points and the table draw is kind to us. 4 PPP players on one table, which Diceman sits at, whilst Matt and Fez get a table with 3 of the PPP ladies, who are in good shape but all very short stacked. The other table sees Static, Levaithan and Stu all seated next to each other as well.

Diceman plays a great team game for the next few levels, as we need PPP players bust, and he seems to tangle with them all busting one with AK v KK (weeeeeeeeee!)

Sadly Diceman busts in 20th, just before the points with AhTh v 44 missing everything on river with any Ace, Ten, Heart or the board pairing to give him the stack......

So now we are up against it, 4 PPP players, 3 PPP ladies, 3 BBP teams all in the points we need 2 good FT finishes if we r in for a shout......Fez and Gus amass huge stacks but with 10 left, and Matt and Fez the CLs we started to dream.

The PPP girls are now favs with 2 left and points lockedup but they each have 3-7bbs, whereas we have 0 points but the 2 CLs....definatly a good spot as we should very quicly know what we need to win it all......or so we thought

Last hand before FT Matt gets crippled 66 v KK on K236 board (a pot for half the chips in play!) he misses his 1 outer and we are suddenly looking at the possibilty of 3rd at a push!

Matt, and his 2bbs, grind on, binking a 3 outer to get back to about 10bbs but he busts in 7th and the PPP Ladies player with his solitary 1bb still in means Fez have to outlast Static and the BBP player for us to lock up 2nd......Fezio is 2nd in chips, with blind shigh he is in a good spot......then he's all in!!
AA v KK...weeeeeee.......shit! K on the flop and the curse of GNFs run bad in team events continues, he is level pegging with the 2 he needs to outlast.....

Static then busts so its really GNF v BBP (sound familiar!) and Fez knows the score.....but i overhear that the BBP cpt wont tell his player what has to happen, so he is playing ftw only. This works in our favour as the blinds are high and he is happy to get it in, which he does!

He busts in 5th and we are now gaurenteed 2nd!

Sadly Fez busts in 3rd when his A5 runs into KK on the PPP player who bust Matt with KK earlier.
I later get told in Day 2, Welch (from PPP) had 10 Pocket Pairs, won them all.....7 times they were in against overs....5/10 times he flopped a set, and everytime he got action.....mbsfn!!!!

So we finish 2nd for a little bit of ££££££ and all in all was a cracking w/e, but gutting to be so close again in a team event only to run pretty poo......i blame JJJ for starting the bad run with his AA v AK v KQ at APAT
