Skin of my TEETH!!!

Well with the BAP left with a measly few $$ i decided to "go broke or go home" as they saying goes.......

OH YES!!!!!!!!

I rode the crazy waves, including my AA < QTo aipf for CL on FT bubble....sadly the might of my A8ss was no match for KJo in the HU exchange!!

What an exciting finish, and i thank the late night railers for there support:

Decided to play off the $200 tonight and close the BAP at $2k (4 times its original amount) and thank you for those invested, obv if i bink one of the following tonight there will be more to come!!

Tonights Schedule is:

$109 ($45k)
$22 2r1a ($35k)
$22 HU ($4k)
$22 360 Cap Big Antes ($5k)

Lets Hope for Another Good Session!!!!

I date Fat Chicks to Balance my range.......

Some one tweeted this Gem, and i think it needs more love!!

I HATE!!!!!

YES!!! YOU GUESSED IT!!!!

No, Not MJ!!

BUBBLES!!!!

Decided on the w/e to pop over to the Gala in Bristol for a spot of Live pokerz, for the £20 f/o.
50 runners decided to venture out, meaning a 1st prize of £400 and 6 places paid.

I started off pretty quiet, as had a table full of locals and an awful seat draw.  To my immediate left was the nittiest player ever and to my right, 2 guys that know i open pretty light in spots and they made my life hell early on.  Everytime i raised in late position, one of them was 3 betting me pre and i found i had to tighten up pre.....bar the one 4bet i got in vs one of them with 64ss ;)

First interesting hand, with blinds 50/100, i found 66 in sb with 3 limpers, i elect to raise to 425 and found 1 caller in c/o.
Flop comes 678 (2 diamonds) and i cbet 450, with c/o calling.
Turn comes Tc and i decide to weak lead again (2 flush draws out as well now) and c/o min reraises me. Now he has only shown picture cards so far and is pretty poor, but good enough to bluff this card.  i tank call, hoping for a dry river to get it all in with. River is Ks, and i check hoping for him to jam as i feel he is weak (he looks more uncomfortable then a guy with IBS in a Curry House) sadly he checks behind, and he mucks when i announce a set.
Really pissed off with myself for announcing my hand there as im intrigued to see what he takes that line with.
A few "nice call" comments from the re-enforces my level of ability, shame as i want to get paid off, and a call like this makes it hard for the future.........but luckily this table breaks very soon.

Pretty card dead for a while after this, until i get a perfect set up for a big stack,
I raise SB with 63o and the utg limper calls.
Flop comes QhJs2c - check check
Turn comes 5s - and i bet the Gutshot for UTG to call.
River comes 2h and i bet pot, for UTG to fold and show KThh announcing "i was drawing!"

I decide to show my 6high bluff
Very next hand i wake up with KK on button and raise same amount for the girl from previous hand to jam in BB i call and win KK v 44 tyvm

I then proceed to chip up to 25k with blinds at 200/400 (and have a stack that gets me to FT comfortably)
Sadly, in standard fashion, i lose vs 2 shorties with:
AK < A6 (chopping me to 21k) and then
K8dd < K7ss (down to 16k) which sucks as 34k stack would have been sick!!

Both times there 3 outers came on river ldo!!

I seem to safely navigate to the Final Table with 22k, which is average but sadly its now a Crapshoot with blinds at 600/1200 and ave stack at 11bbs.  With 2x Big CLs there is no hope for savers or deals, but i am confident i am prob the strongest player left so all is not lost.

2 players drop in 4 hands to leave us in the bubble, only for me to see nothing better than T3o for about 2 rounds, and the odd occasion i do see i blind stealing hand, someone has shoved prior :(

With the blinds at 800/1600 it folds round to the SB who limps, and i look down at AKcc and jam it all in quicker than a Virgin in a Brothel, only to be met with an insta-call.........(PLEASE GOD WIN A FLIP!!!)
He shows KK and i brick.
As im about to leave the dealer pushes me a 500 chip....lol thanks alot!!
I win the next hand with AT v KJ and am up to 1500, i jam that in blind to treble up again with T8hh v KK ( i flop a flush and he misses his higher flush redraw TWICE!!)

I fold the next few garbage hands only to see another Shortie shove and be called!!! COME ON!!

Its the shorties A8 v CLs AJ............ AKK3............Q (Ahhhhhh FML!!!!)

By the time its back to my BB im all in blind and find T3o again only for CL to have AT and thats it!!

7/50 with 6 paid

WP bubble, you win again!!!

21/01/2011

I HATE the word nearly!

AHHHHHHHHHHH That made me feel better!!!!

Decided to play a few MTTs tonight, good idea!!
After busting the first with AK<KQ aipf *YAWN*
Then the 2nd with 22 v A9cc on 2c Tc 3h flop and 4 bet jamming for him to call with just the flush draw for a MONSTER POT, i was left in the $3rb with 6 seats to the $162 Daily $100k..........Well with over 100 runners i found myself busting 8th for $12 GREAT, 2 places more for an extra $150 but never mind.
I was still in the $30k $5 2r1a and looking good.........or so i though, with 495/3154 getting paid i ended up in 531st when my reship of A9 (and my 16bbs) was no match for the fishes QTo, and although i flopped an Ace, sadly his runner runner 4 card flush was too good for me.

I HATE "NEARLYS"

Luckily Bill Murray tells me how it is:

Thanks Bill

Just windind down with some 18mans, as a roll builder and so far:

Whats crazy with these is played 13 games, have an ROI of 93% (obv small sample) but have 0 1st place finishes!!! So my aim today is to at least win 1!!!!

Good Luck My Fellow Grinders!!!

Some1 Ship Me Some RUN GOOD!!!

Having a session tonight:

$11 Deepstack ($10k)
$5 ($20k)
$3 6max ($4k)
$2 Turbo ($12k)
$3 ($5k)
SilverStar VIP Freeroll ($30k)

plus

Hopefully around 20-30 18mans ($3 and $6).....these are used to bolster the roll, as a torrid run in mtts have left me gasping for breath!!

Anyone around feel free to rail, say hey, or tell me where im going wrong!!

EDIT:
Lol first table of a $3 mtt and i have 2x Supernovas at my table!!!!

13/01/2011

An Action Packed Evening........Minus the Action!!

Well thats strictly not true as i put in a little bit of volume this evening playing 6mtts and 10 multitable SNGs, for a slight profit.

I decided to take a shot at another 3e rebuy sat for the DTD Grand Prix II, and sadly was 1 flip away from a seat.  With the blinds rising i busted in 12th place, flipping for a top 4 stack with 6 seats (worth 115e) and a 7th place prize of 97e :(  My TT was no match for the CLs mighty AKo.............

This pic sums it up and is actually the album cover of a Early 90's Rock Band, MR BIG, whose biggest hit was one of those songs you all know but never have a clue who it is by. "To Be With You" was also on this album, which is called "Lean Into It".................Good Album!!

Whilst playing in that i also tried my luck in the 3e game with 1000e gaurenteed, where i busted just shy of the money with AA not being able to hold vs the 68o of my Eurotard friend. (See definition 2)
I also entered the 25e 1500e g Deepstack, and altho card dead managed to navigate to 18/75 where i lost 2 hands B2B to the same muppet. I iso'd his limp with A8 on button (he limped called 1/3rd his stack mind) and with an 873 flop he somehow woke up with 77 (how he doesnt shove his 11bbs pre i dont know!) then next hand he limps again, i shove AQhh for 20bbs, he calls with AJo and although a Kh 9h 2d flop looks awesome for me, as well as the Turn coming 2s, sadly the Jc on river ruins all of my plans!!

On Stars i played a few $2-$5 MTTs with no avail, going deep in a few but seemed that jamming PP into bigger PP was the way of the day! :(

With bedtime looming i decided to reg for a few 18 and 180mans to try and ease the pain, and with some min cashes in the 180s (10/180, 13/180, 16/180) as well as some very close calls (21/180 and 30/180) positive steps are being taken!

BE POSITIVE!

Also cashed in both the 18mans i played.  Which is funny actually, as i accidently regged for a $16 18man and ended up 4th (which ill take) but with 6 left i lost a HOOOOOGE all in with AK v QJ leaving me with 500 chips @ 400/800....OHHH NOOOEEESSSS!!!! I hear you cry.....well my ninja poker skills found me trebling up, folding down to 500 again (seeing 3 high didnt help) and suddenly the guy who won my flip was al in on the BB.....his AK v CL T9o....Flop K8Q (bugger) turn A (bugger) river J!!!! (WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!) Id managed to ninja to a 4th palce cash with 1/2 a bb in front!

As that was sooo rewarding, and made me feel good i decided to share the love to all of you's that follow the ramblings i put here......Women look away now!

Ladies, Please dont Flame me, she is looking at them too.......i mean its hard not to!!!!!!

TT4N ;)

Good Sign, Albeit no scores to write home about

Seems that im at that point in the BAP again where a huge downswing occurs, which already has happened 3 times this month and ive pulled it back and it looks as though i may be able to do the same again.

In regards to the schedule im undertaking for the BAP, i have decided to mix it up a little to preserve the roll, and lend to more volume - more volume = bigger score. Altho i am averaging about 100 games a week!!

The last week i have played a good amount of volume mixing MTTs with some 18man sngs to keep roll ticking over, but with a bad stretch (of beats and mistiming) the time has come to review both what i am doing and what i am playing.

I have been adding some capped games looking for a solid 4 figure cash and the "eggs in one basket" approach has failed me.

The last few days i have put in some good solid hours of HH reviews, training vids etc and broken down my schedule to see if i can revamp it to build the roll a little quicker and try for the score at the same time (i obv wanna make the backers some nice $$$$)

New Look Schedule:

I have replaced the $3 rebuy ($60k g) with some 180man $3rebuys as these 180man varieties still boast a top prize of anything from $300-$800 and its such a smaller field. The MTT variety have over 8000 entrants, and its a slog.  Ok, $10k top prize is nice, but the next few days im happy to take the "little and often approach" to get us back in the red.
Ive taken out the $22 capped games, and replaced them with some smaller 180mans as well. Playing the $2-$7 180s (the later boast a first prize of $300+) should allow me to rebuild by volume and in the $22 game u need a top 7 finish for $300 for less risk.
I am also using my FPPs to play sats into the $11 MTTs, but when won will unreg and play a $12 180man for an even bigger prize pool.

MTT wise i am still playing them, as well as micro sats, but the max buyin i will play is $8.80 f/o's and $5 capped rebuys (as these are the games i seem to have an edge in)

After the revision and regrouping session (Thanks GNF'rs) i have played a few games including the $8 $12k g MTT on Stars, in which i finished 92/2500+ for a small cash and had 5/5 top 40 finishes in 180 mans (granted there was 0 cashes, but i feel it is a positive sign going forward)

Also got PT3 back working, which is helping my decision making, and the deep run in the $8 is due to it!! Altho i did bust when reshipping my A4ss into a guy playing something crazy like 42/32 (he had AQ!!! D'oh)

Been thinking about the lack of vlogs in this blog, as last years contained them almost weekly, so would be interested to hear in what you few readers think about that......if wanted ill happily oblige.

Was also wondering how many hits this Blog can get this year?? Already had just under 200 in a 2 week period, wouldnt it be funny if a muppet like me could oust Daleroxxu for blogger of the year....shouldnt be too hard ;)

I would like to thank Tom, as well as a few others, as it seems the volume had induced a Uber-Tilt rage when losing to retards, this was down to the sheer volume i have been putting in (more than i have ever put in constantly over a period) and after some wise words, a break and some review of sessions i feel 100%

Thats all for now guys, lets be having a profitable January!!

10/01/2011

THIS WAS ON THE HORIZON!!!!

For all those that havent figured out yet it was a bad day at the office .......... but all is not lost fo'sho

I would give up........

But it could be worse.......I could be this Guy!!!........

09/01/2011

Is it on the Horizon?!

I feel like that Fat Ugly Bloke! Not with the women (ldo) but with the Evil Mtt Pokerz!!!
This month alone i have had the following near misses, of which 80% have been 2/3 outers!! grrrrrr

20/544
12/500
68/2335
18/2059
100/2002
4/1000
11/622
9/360
37/1000
99/1266

And then tonight i decide to play the $11 Sunday 1/4 Million on Stars that attracted a whopping 37060 runners!!
Well i managed to finish 1648th overall, which is a nice 5x buyin score but again leaves me slighlty frustrated, especially with a $30k payday uptop.
I found myself at a table of retards (see image)

And with there superior Ninja Skills they take my chips.
I was riding ok with about 40bbs deep in the money, and 4bet jammed my stack with AK vs a 3betting spewtard who has been uber aggro.....the original raiser calls, and then Ninja Spewtard calls with.................55!!!
Origanal raiser calls with AQ (How he thinks he is ok in this spot i dont know!)
I miss....and miss a chance for a near 90bb pot......now i know 55 is in front but that call should never be made, as surely he must realise his call prices in the spewtard, and this at best battling against 3 overs!!
As i write this bitter update he prob has $30k in his account thanks to the Pokerstars Retard Appriciation Society!!

Well at least the BAP is still in good $$$

(ed - i am not prejudice against people with special needs, in anyway, but the pic is soooo apt! And if u think im offensive, dont read my FUCKING BLOG!)

Also played a satty for the DTD Grand Prix II, which was a 3e rebuy.....attracted 67 runners and ended up paying 6 seats to the event (which cost 115e) and i was only in for 9e.
Pretty soft and you really just need to wait for your hands and the all in shove fest monkeys do the rest for you.
One guy on my table must have gone all in about 20hands on the trot and suprise suprise was CL when i busted in about 27th (JJ<QQ)

I couldnt believe he was human, and thought the Monkey had a Banana stuck on the keyboard or something......he managed to email me proof!
Monkeys are AMAZING!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh FFS

Saturdays Plan

1) Get Car Fixed!!!!!!!!!!! This is Uber important as Buses are GHEY!!!! - Was Ignition Coil, gone, replaced it and it runs like a dream

2) Play 20 x 18/45s (prob even split) - ended in profit, but ran Uber Bad at end - busting 8 straight to 3 outers :(

3) Play at least 10 MTTs, focusing on Micro Rebuys and Capped Games - Did this for a loss of $100. Some Deep Runs, but again couldnt hold when all in. My Blog title couldnt be more apt.
77<52dd, JJ<AK (J on river making his Gutshot for CL with less than 100 left in a Euro game), QQ<68 for 150 bb pot, KK<KQ, AK<AQ, QQ<99......ohhh it all went on tonight!!!!

4) Play a few Sats for a Sunday Major, hopefully bink 2 seats, and maybe play a $109 game in evening (Ohhhhhh a 5 fig score would ROCK THIS BAP!) - played 2 no seats....A4 on A47 flop no Goooood!!!! ldo!

All in all a frustrating day on the pokerfront.....and what hurts the ego more is that if in the 18/45 mans my 75%s hold up, the BAP would still be in profit, losing to 3 outs hurts most of the time, but on FT of MultiTable game, and just before FT of a big MTT really gets frustrating.  This year ive had a lot of deep runs, now i am puttin in volume, and its always 3 outers that seem to get the better of me.  All i ask for 2011 is that ONE holds up, so i can take a Big stack to FT, pwn some n00bs, and take down a big score........But at the moment, Pokerstars obv still has its affiliation with a Retard School or something, and feels they need the money more than i do?!?!? WELL THATS CERTAINLY NOT THE CASE!!

Whats Next!?

Well with 22 days left in the Jan BAP, i will be hammering out as much volume till end of month, i will also include sessions of 18 and 45 mans, as they are a great way to keep the roll up, allowing for more MTTs to be played and more scores to be aimed for, i currently have made about 20 buyins in 35 games played and that is with the GODAWFUL run i faced at end of todays session...........

Also going to actively look for an MTT and/or a SNG coach to fix the leaks that i may have (ed- do have!) as i am focused on being a better player.

Need to check out the sats for the DTD Grand Prix, which i havent bothered tryin to sat into but am looking to play as it is a great value tournament.  That will pretty much wrap Jan up.

Podcasts and Poker

For those iPhone owners, Podcast Listeners or internet surfers here are my list of Top 5 Podcasts.

1) The Joe Rogan Experience - This Guy is a Comedian, MMA Fighter, TV presenter and generally funny guy.  I dont smoke Pot or anything like that but he has me in stiches all the way through. Fucking A+

2) The Ricky Gervais Podcast - Comedian again, with sidekick Stephen Merchant, basically take the piss out of friend Karl Pilkington.  Been a fan since The Office.  If you havent seen that either - watch it!

3) 2+2 Pokercast - hosted by Mike Johnson and poker pro Adam Schwartz.  Upto Date Poker info and, in my opinion, the Best Poker Podcast around at the moment

4) The Poker Beat - Jess Welman, Scott Huff, Dan Michalski, BJ Nemeth and Joe Stapleton all aboard with some great dicussions on the poker world.  Good Listen.

5) Cash Plays - More Strat based Podcast, One that i have started to get into more and more in 2010.  The third Poker Podcast i listen too, and is always refreshing.  Think as Strategy based podcasts go, you wont find better than this atm.

Ive always wanted to start doing a Podcast myself, as have dabbled in Vlogs (which seemed popular last year on my Blog) so maybe in 2011 you'll be adding mine to the list!!!

Happy Listening!

Think ive found my niche

After working a late today and busting late in $5 2r1a last night i was too tired to grind mtts till early hours of morning so decided to play some more $6.50 18 and 45 mans on Stars, as they are a great varience buster for the BAP. Now i know obv people have invested looking for the BIG SCORE, and these certainly WONT give any1 that, but they are a steady roll builder.  Much to the point whereas they will be my main focus for 2011 when not BAPing out my MTT action.
Figured out that you need to play 275ish per month to maintain SILVERSTAR and thats more than do able, and i hope a 17% ROI is sustainable, tbh in the 18mans it prob could be higher.

My immediate thoughts going forward are:
1) Bink a Big score or two by end of Jan, hopefully MTT BAP on Stars can carry on going forward, and have all investors paid back + profit.
2) BAP out MTT action on Boss (have 1 investor waiting, happy to take up to €250 of action -  which would probably be half........need to decide whether i buy other 50% and go from there?!)
3) Coaching, ideally would like some MTT and 18/45man coaching as YOUR best isnt THE best, and although i feel a have a grip on the game, improvement is key.  They are some players like James Atkin, to name just one, who pwn these 18 and 45 mans.

4) Play a few Sats for a Sunday Major, hopefully bink 2 seats, and maybe play a $109 game in evening (Ohhhhhh a 5 fig score would ROCK THIS BAP!)
5)Make sure Car is sorted, food is eaten and podcasts downloaded before the grind starts, NO INTERUPTIONS!!!

Post 1 - 2011 (The Year it all falls together!)

Ive decided to start a new Blog, for a new year as i feel that i want to start afresh with everything in 2011 and focus myself properly into the tasks ahead.  For anyone that is intrigued my old blog can be found at www.microstakeftw.blogspot.com and is general ramblings really.

2010 was an absolute awful year for myself, not only financially but emotionally too.  Dont get me wrong i have a lovely fiancee that adores me, but my head seemed to be all over the place and i struggled to focus.

Ill be honest, as 2011 began i have a meaningless job that is merely a stopgap for the future, i have the realisation that i have missed opportunities to do those things in life i wanted to, HOWEVER i have set some goals to achieve this year to help that.

Will i ever be a full time Poker Pro, travel the world and live the good life? Prob not, but do i have the abilities to win $ at the game, I CERTAINLY DO!

After the crazy year i had in 2010 i decided to start the year id run a BAP of $500 of which i have 28% of (Roll is currently at $520 - if only a nice bink would come) that ends on 31st Jan. Thanks to the support of my friends at :www.gamblingnetwork.com and www.pokerplayersplace.com - i really hope its as succesful as my earlier BAPs

To start this blog properly i think it is only right to list the aims for 2011 and hope this Blog, and the shit 2010 drive me forward to achieve all of this and more.

[ ] online Final Tables x 15
[ ] online MTT wins x 3
[ ] satty into at least 1x UKIPT
[ ] satty into at least 1x CBMPT
[ ] $15k winnings on Stars
[ ] €2k winnings on Boss
[ ] cash in DTD 300

Already had 1 Final Table this year coming 9/622 in a $22 MTT on Pokerstars, as well as having 3 TOP 20 finishes....GRRRRR.

Once this BAP is done i will be playing mainly the following:
Stars - HU, 18 and 45 man Turbos
Boss - MTTs

Well thats enough rambling for me, GL to all those following
