Bad day at the Office!

Literally

Started off pretty badly, and couldnt find my way back. No matter what i did.
TBH my EV is pissing me off as it should be alot higher (bit i did tilt a little....) However the Gap from EV Line and Actual P/L is horrific and makes me feel very sad......

As the "challenge" starts tomorrow there is good and bad news...........

The good news is i get to start a fresh, shiny new graph with this horrendous image gone!
The bad news is the roll took such a hit im either gonna have to a)mix in some $7s or b)Use fpps to try and get some TD$s from WarmUp/Mill sats.....

Just hope my EV line and Actual line are not $200 apart this soon again (well unless the actual line is higher than EV) ;)

Happy Grinding

Xmas List

I never treat myself.... i mean very very rarely.
Bar taking up golf, i dont do a great deal so decided to inspire myself with the Pokerstars shop for xmas pressies for ME!

Until Xmas, i have a setup with HUSNGs that will finally inspire me to actually grind for $$ instead of play for that big MTT score.

I have signed up at HUSNG to discuss hands et al, and will be a solid HUSNG grinder from now on.

My Full BR management is as follows:

$7 - $250 and below
$15 - $250 to $1k
$30 - $1k to $2400
$60 - $2400 to $4000
$100 - $4000 +

Not gonna look too far ahead :)

Starting in August i will be playing 1000 games a month (to start) which is a fair amount of volume but certainly do-able and after discussing with some HU Pros, i now have a greater understanding of how the life of a grinder works. I have also edited my HUD to help with decisions, as they are some Key stats that you really need to be on top of whilst grinding hu, so that will help me spot Villians leaks as well as my own.

After this month i shall be submitting some game history to the coaches at HUSNG.com to further improve as i move up.

Im working on a 35-40buyin rule before moving up, most will play as shallow as 25buyins but i want to feel secure when i move up.

Its really interesting to look at what needs to be done in these games to make good $$

1000 games gaurentees me the following:
$15 @ Silverstar = 5040fpps
$15 @ Goldstar = 7720fpps
$30 @ Goldstar = 13420fpps

All of this allows me to rack up $$$ rewards and buy cool shit from the store ;)

Also its interesting to see that:
5% ROI @ $15's = $750 profit (this allows me to move up to the $30's)
5% ROI @ $30's = $1500 profit (this allows me to move up to the $60's)
5% ROI @ $60's = $3000 profit (this allows me to move up to the $100's)

*All based at 1000 games per month

Now 5% ROI is good at HUSNGs but more than achieveable

Obviously an idealised view however even if roi is 3-4% in the bigger levels there is definatly a good chance of being at the $60's by xmas......

At this point i should be a reg Platinumstar earning lots of Stellar Bonus' and even 3% at the $30's is ~$1k.....

I will be taking time each week to review and revise and will be treating this as a job, but obv still gonna keep my 9-5.

I will keep u all updated, but certainly expect me to immerse myself into this completely. The key to success is 1)Volume and 2)Revision

Looking forward to buyin some Aviators, new home game chipset and a Pokerstars Robe ;)

Wish i could touch + EV please!!

Played a session of 50 HU SNGs this evening

Won 27
Lost 23
ROI - 4%

However all was not lost, as i ran 10 buyins under EV according to Holdem Manager, costing me almost $300 (20 buyins!!) how sick

Started off poorly, then found myself grinding through the tards, and avoiding the regs.....sadly lost last 3 games to put a dampener on the comeback with 77 into 88, 99 into TT and AK < Ax.....P'ah!!!

I was more than comfortable 2 tabling and added a 3rd when i was in the groove.
50 games in a night was definatley comfortable, as i was 5/6 tabling MTTs on Pokerstars.FR (i bubbled 4 of them!) and 2 on PCUK (in which i got 3 outered on the river when all in on the flop both times!!!)
RUN BETTER SIR!!!!!!

I should be happy i made profit today, and i am......as long as that upswong is due!!!

Hope you all ran + EV

Vblog to follow tomoz me thinks!

Horrible Sunday Session

Played almost 100 HU SNGs today, a mix of Turbos and Hyper-Turbos with about a 10buyin loss :(

Couldnt get going at all today, with winning 35% of my 60/40's and a few brutal 3 and 4 outers hitting for villian made it a hard day.

Still upswinf will be nice!!!

Been reading up and actually have enough roll for the $15's so gonna play those from now on but with strict BRM.

I wont aim high, merely a 10% ROI, but figured out that to get Goldstar ill need to play 893 games.

So Augusts target are:
1000 $15 HU sngs
10% ROI

Now as i am Silverstar atm, that would equate into:

5040 FPPs
and
$1500 profit.

At Goldstar the month after i "should" be able to move up to the $30's and get 2 FPPs per VPP earnt, and with a 10% ROI that would equate to:

13420 FPPs
and
$3000 profit

Thats some sick numbers but makes me motivated to grind.

FYI - 10% ROI over 1000 games means roughly winning 6.8/10 games so 680 games in total.

Lets do this

22/07/2011

Volume Volume Volume

Well guys, i really need to pull my finger out of my bottom and get down to some serious grinding.  As i am looking like my lil friend here!!

I ran over a checklist in my head, to make sure i know what i am doing.
[x] i have a game i beat consistently
[x] i know how volume affect win rate
[ ] i have motivation

I was putting off my HUSNG grind as i had a 180 man prop bet coming up, but that hasn't even started yet (nobody's fault) but i haven't put any real hrs in to making some $$ which is really poor on my part.

He has it right IMO

After a quick session of 40 HU sng turbos (26/14) - running pretty -EV (3outers FTL!) I did some number crunching to hopefully help motivate me.

I have an ROI ranging between 10%-20% on average at the above games and ill hell bent on making Silver-star every month this year (and i am 7/7, soon to be 8/8). Do do this playing the $7 HU SNG Turbos i need to play ~470 games....so for ease i will use 500 as the benchmark.

10% ROI = 70c per game = $350 profit
15% ROI = $1.05 per game = $525 profit
20% ROI = $1.40 per game = $700 profit

and

25% ROI = $1.75 per game = $875 profit

Obvious numbers i understand but it shows the earning potential at the stakes i am playing currently.  Obviously 25% roi is what the beast achieve and its a lot to ask but im confident i can make 15%, easy, so WHY AM I NOT DOING IT!! Looking at these numbers today has made me realise i need to snap out of the slump im in and take advantage of the earning potential, i mean ; no one is gonna hand you money.

500 games a month is pish, especially now Stars has improved the speed of the software. Its only 20 sessions of 25 games (and i always play more than that!)  This leeway gives me time to take off if i don't feel good etc. Dann you are a knob and need to sort your sorry ass out!!!

Sorry about that, i needed to be told.

Im terrible for setting goals etc and not fulfilling them, but now i feel i have something to really spur me on. All i have to do is run at 15% in August and i can double my roll, allowing me to move up to the $11......Do the same in September and move up stakes means roll will increase by another $750. At that rate a $3k roll is achievable by End of the Year easy.

So:
15% ROI in August over 500 games [ ]
15% ROI in Sept over 500 games [ ]
Grinding $15 HU Sngs by Nov 1st [ ]
$3k roll by Dec 31st 2011 [ ]

This should be a peace of piss!!

Work Hard , Grind Hard

Ill leave with this gem of music.....i hope you like

For the risk of sounding like a broken record!!!!!

Oh so BLOODY CLOSE again!!!!

$109 Sunday Kickoff
Sunday Warm Up
So with 10 MTTs of $109 + buyin i have cashed in 7...however not once has it been for 4 figures.
Have played the Kick Off twice now, and cashed both times, and also had a 12th in another daytime $109.......thinking i must be close now to get one of those big wins.

Exit hands were standard really - shoved 16bbs with AK and got called by 99 in the Kick Off, and Blind v Blind i jammed my 13bbs with A7dd and got called by a Lagtard in bb with KTo and he got there in the Warm Up..........

So Pokerstars, if you would let me win that late flip for top 10 stack just ONCE, that would be great!!!! Its not like im asking to run like Duhammel or Moon is it!?!?!

Todays Sunday Grind Schedule

Playing the following today for definate

1100 - The Bigger $33 ($30k)
1300 - The $109 Sunday Kickoff ($75k)
1400 - The Bigger $5.50 ($30k)
1600 - Sunday WarmUp ($500k)
1700 - The Bigger $22 (50k)
2000 - The Bigger $55 (200k)

May also add in some other small buyin MTTs, some 180s and lots of HU sngs

Have sold 50% so lets hope for a good return, GNF'rs have a history of doing well in the Warm Up ;)

Happy Sunday Major Grinding all of you, and i leave you with my Video of the Week

I mean, i would live Ortiz to KTFO Bader, as cant stand Bader at all but its wishful thinking, and in regards teh the Title Fight, i like both fighters,  actually the division is well stacked but as much as i want Cruz to retain the title, i think Faber may just pinch it in a bore fest!!
Obv Leben is gonna smash up Wanderlei, think the Cripplers defeat in his last bout will have him ready

WAR CRIPPLER!!!!!!!

July Prop Bet

Have a prop bet with Mike "Everyonedoes" Hatfeild, from the PPP forum that runs over the course of July.

Game: 180man turbos on Stars
Minimum : 200 games
Goal: 25% ROI minimum

The loser must wear to the Winter Masters ( a live game the PPP put on every year) a "Screen Name > Ivey" t shirt

Eg if he wins, i have to wear a "Everyonedoes > Ivey" Tshirt whilst playing the Live Game

Should be fun, he is a bit of a 180 grinder mind, and i am moreso a HU grinder, maybe next month we can do teh same at HUsng turbos!!
